Chennai : Phoenix MarketCity, Chennai’s hub for live music entertainment hosted the second day of the Global Isai Festival with great buoyancy and excitement. The musical extravaganza featuring musical talents from all over the world had top artists like Mangloo (Reunion Island), Karl Hungus (Reunion Island), Destyn Maloya (Reunion Island), Maneli Jamal (Canada),  Radiotronics (Indo/US) and Pink Noise (India) perform on day two. The artists who are influenced by various geographies of the world brought in a lot of cultural inspiration to the genre of the music they performed on.

The crowd was swaying with the tunes played by Shanker and Eddie of Radiotronics. L.Shanker who has composed for movies like Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ and sold over 50 Million albums, was rendering live synthesized vocals along with a masterly display on his double-violin while Eddie accompanied with an EDM set. Maneli Jamal, a world musician from Canada who has travelled to over 18 countries exhibited his global musical travel and influences to the audience through his solo acoustic guitar act and enthralled the crowd. Destyn Maloya performed with adrenaline pumping rhythms native to the Reunion Island and their energy, colorful garbs and groovy moves lifted the audience. Mangloo’s performance was pure rock bliss. Pascal Manglou, front man of the band, melted many a faces with some fancy guitar riffs and his French rock vocals, alongside Mishko M’ba, one of the most sought after bass player and guru, was in his elements as usual. Earlier in the day, Karl Hungus kicked of day two’s line-up with some carefully put together playlist of funky loops and bluesy tunes which proved just adequate for the audience to turn the event grounds to a dance floor in the high sun.

Both days of the event stayed true to its labelling as a music festival by virtue of a second stage which saw filler bands performing acoustic and DJ sets to keep the audience gripped to the festive feel. The photo booth and the live graffiti podium pulled many a eager shutterbugs and avid eyes that feasted on the visuals and music from either event stages.

The mall witnessed a huge crowd who were basking in the electrifying and soulful tunes of music. The songs performed for the evening had a blend of diverse musical styles giving the audience an opportunity to experience a complete musical bonanza and the day ended with an exhilarating performance from the Indian band, Pinknoise.
