Teachers won against Parents with a margin of 30 runs in 12 over cricket match

Hyderabad, February 06, 2016…….Muddy Soles – 2016, the first Inter-School Sports Meet concluded here at Open Minds premises at Kollur in Hyderabad today.  The closing marked with a unique Cricket Match Parents vs Teachers.  



The parents of Open Minds School fought with teachers. It was a 12 overs match.  The response was so overwhelming from parents that two teams had to be formed, with each team playing 6 overs with the Staff of Open Minds.



The toss was won by the Parents Team, who chose to field. The first innings of 12 overs had the staff of Open Minds closing at 135 Runs losing 2 wickets. The Parents had to get a total of 136 to win the match. Tough parents tried their hard, couldn’t make. Finally The Winners of the Match were Staff of Open Minds, who won with a difference of 30runs over the parents.



The School Principal – Ms.Swapnali Deore and the School Dean – Aryan Sharma of Grade 9 were the commentators for the match. The excitement was in the air and all the parents, teachers and students had a great time on the grounds.



The winners were presented the Winner’s Trophy, and the parents won the Runner’s Trophy. All the participant parents were also given a token of appreciation from the school. The parents of Open Minds have been the most supportive parents, who came forward and volunteered to even help in organizing all the games and events over the whole week. All the Parent Volunteers were also appreciated and gifted for being so involved and supportive.



Open Minds – A Birla School is the first school in Hyderabad which has conducted such a friendly match between the parents and staff. This is just the beginning.   The school is positive about taking this legacy ahead, says the Principal – Ms.Swapnali Deore.



Muddy Soles was  organsied  with an objective to turn away kids from virtual games to real games.  Competitions were held in various sports activities such as track events, football, basketball, tennis, chess and carom Board during the last four days. 350 students and from 40 schools have taken part in the inter school event.
