Hyderabad, February 19, 2016….. The Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises – Development Institute, an organization of Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India in association with Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs(COWE) of India is organizing a two day National Vendor Development Program cum Industrial Exhibition.  The Industrial Exhibition was inaugurated today at NSIC Business Park at Kamalanagar, Kushaiguda by Jupally Krishna Rao, Minister of Industries, Textiles & Sugar, Govt. of Telangana.



In his inaugural address, Jupally Krishna Rao expressed his view that these Programs & Exhibitions should be conducted in districts also so that maximum number of people will be benefited in rural areas. He quoted the success stories of countries like Japan, Singapore and Israel having limited resources and is very successful in global markets with their products.



He highlighted the various steps taken up by the Government of Telagnana.



Speaking on the occasion he said, that the data of imports and exports to be compiled for identifying the potential export oriented opportunities and producing value added products for exports and also for domestic needs. He also stressed about taxation issues arising because of different States policies to be dealt with, so that local units are not deprived of markets within the State due to high costs. He touched upon the issues like Skill development at grass root level, friendly budget for SC/ST and backward classes.



Ch. Malla Reddy, MP, Smt. Pavani Reddy, Dr. A S Rao Nagar Corporator, Sudhir Reddy, President, Telangana Industrial Welfare Federation, Venkata Chalapathy, General Manager of NSIC and R. Parthasarathy, General Manager of BHEL also graced the occassion.



Addressing the Gathering Ch. Malla Reddy, Member of Parliament urged the MSMEs as well as Government Departments to strive for excellence in their fields.  He said that a nation’s development depends upon the women empowerment particularly in the field of entrepreneurship.



D. Chandra Sekhar, Director, MSME-DI, Hyderabad in his welcome address said that the Exhibition being held for two days displayed 155 stalls consisting of MSME, PSUs, Banks and Industry associations. He explained about the Public Procurement Policy, Cluster development and various other initiatives taken up by Central Government through 25 other schemes in guiding and assisting the MSMEs.  He also explained about the latest online registration of MSEs i.e. Udyog Aadhar Memorandum and take advantage of this scheme. He urged the Industry Associations to disseminate the information to their member units about various schemes of Government of India supporting MSMEs.



Sudhir Reddy, President, TIWF explained the problems being faced by MSMEs.  He felt that the existence and strengthening of Public Sector Units will give opportunity and growth of the MSMEs. He praised the new Industrial policy i.e. TS-IPASS launched by the Government of Telangana.  The scheme like Cluster Development of the Central Government need to be made more flexible so that within the same district more number of clusters can be supported.



Girija.P, President, COWE stressed the need of quality of products to enable the PSUs to identify potential MSME Units as their suppliers as they are finding difficulty in identifying potential vendors.  She quoted her own example of supplying products to Bharat Electronics Limited to a tune of Rs.5 Crores within a span of 3 years.  She commended the efforts made by Director, MSME-DI, Hyderabad in organizing the programme.  She said that 25 women entrepreneurs from COWE are participating in the Exhibition.



R. Parthasarathy, GM(MM & Logistics), BHEL explained the role and activities taken up by their Institutions in supporting and promoting MSMEs. He explained that they are supporting the MSMEs much earlier than the launch of Public Procurement Policy and they have crossed mandatory procurement of 20% purchases from MSEs. He requested the MSE Units to register with them and become business partners by supplying material to their sister Units.  Further the MSE Units have to satisfy the prescribed norms of the BHEL.



The similar exhibition held last year has generated Rs 10crore orders for MSMEs.  According to Public Procurement Policy for Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) Order, 2012 all the Central Government Ministries, Departments and Public Sector Undertakings should procure minimum of 20 per cent of their annual value of goods or services from Micro and Small Enterprises. This order mandated in the year 2015.  So many PSU and Government bodies have to procure goods worth hundreds of crores. But, their challenge is to identify those MSMEs who can supply such goods worth many crores.  So, this platform will bring all of them together on a single platform informed Chandra Sekhar and Girija.  This is a very useful to all, they informed.



Indian MSMEs face enormous challenges in terms of productivity and establishing a credible foothold in global arena. Marketing is seen as key for future prospects. We need to desperately scale up our efforts to fuel manufacturing, develop skills to produce better products with more creative approach, assure quality and add value to enhance the share in domestic and global market. This will provide a common platform for MSME large and medium scale sectors for a live interaction to understand their requirements, and facilitate in establishing business linkages informed D. The program is organized for the benefit of micro, small & medium enterprises of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States. The program is being supported by CPSUs, Bankers and all local industries associations.



The objectives of the program is to  Identify and explore the business, bench marking for challenging the best, to build strong business linkages to fulfill the heightened quest for cost efficiencies, to promote networking among the industrialists, traders, large, medium enterprises & PSU and to showcase the strength and core competence of MSME's



The prime objective of it is to facilitate a business tie-up between Government & CPSUs viz., SCR, VSP, BHEL, NTPC, ECIL, NMDC, BEL, Coal India Ltd., Defense Establishments and large private sector industries with MSMEs for mutual benefits and to provide appropriate marketing linkages.



More than 155 stalls of Government, Large, Medium, Small & Micro units and 10 CPSUs are exhibiting their products. The other exhibitors include Raw Materials Suppliers, Heat Treatment Furnace manufacturers, Packaging machine and machine suppliers, Technology Providers & Consultants, Importers & Exporters, State Government Departments and Undertakings, R & D institutions and Financial Institutions and Tool Rooms & Testing Laboratories



This event provides an opportunity to MSMEs to showcase their capability to PSUs/ Govt. Organizations and Large Industries that outsource their products and services to MSMEs. The participating PSUs would also exhibit their requirements from the MSME sector.



The two day event provides a suitable forum for buyers & sellers to interact with each other for establishing business relationships for the supply of required materials and it would be an ideal platform for PSUs to identify vendors, thus promoting market avenues for MSMEs. Participants would be enlightened on Vendor Registration procedures and Procurement policies of PSUs and Govt. agencies during the seminar.



The program is supported by COWE, SBI, SBH, Andhra Bank, Canara Bank, Corporation Bank, FAPSIA & Others. The Vendors who will participate include South Central Railways, Visakha Steel Plant (VSP), BHEL, NMDC, ONGC, BDL, BEL, SC Railways, GAIL, HAL, Defense, NTPC. CPSU’s and other Govt. Departments
