~Locality Receives Water Purification System and Sanitation Facility~
Bengaluru 3rd Feb, 2016 – The Honorable Minister of Agriculture, Sri Krishna Byre Gowda inaugurated a RO water purifier system and sanitation facility near Panchayat Office, Kodigehalli on 2nd February 2016. This is a joint initiative of Sri Chetan K M, the Corporator of Kodigehalli Ward No 8, Sri. Manjunath, Chairman - MCN group and Sri Naveen, director of MCN group. The initiative was in fond memory of the late Sri. Nanjundappa, ex chairman of Kodigehalli. The water purifier and public toilets are the initial step towards achieving Nanjundappa’s lifelong goal, to provide residents of the locality access to clean drinking water and good personal hygiene.
The drinking water facility is the first of its kind in the locality that uses Reverse Osmosis technology to guarantee that people get pure, healthy and clean drinking water. Reverse Osmosis ensures that chemical contaminants are removed from water, thereby making it fit for drinking and domestic use. This is an essential step in laying the foundation of a healthy society which is free of diseases. “The residents of kodigehalli make use of bore well water for drinking as well as domestic facilities. Since the water found in the area has high content of salt, it is actually inappropriate for drinking. This RO water purifier will give residents access to pure and sweet drinking water at an economical cost of just five rupees per can.” Said Sri Chetan K M, the Corporator of Kodigehalli Ward No 8.
In addition to the water purifier, as part of this social responsibility initiative, public toilet was also inaugurated. The sanitation facility was constructed to ensure proper public hygiene in the locality. This is an important stride in the direction to encouraging hygiene. The stationing of public toilets is critical to prevent exposure to diseases resulting from defecating in open places. A healthy, clean nation begins with a healthy and clean neighborhood. This Fifteen Lakhs project is undertaken by MCN Group along with the government to ensure public health by providing pure drinking water and clean public sanitary facilities.
“It was the dream of the erstwhile chairman of Kodigehalli, my father, late Sri. Nanjundappa to improve the infrastructure facilities in Kodigehalli. Keeping in mind this lifelong desire of my father late Sri. Nanjundappa, we have set this impetus leading towards access to clean water and good hygiene facility within Kodigehalli” said Sri. Manjunath, the chairman of MCN Group. The project was conceived as a memorial of his late father Sri. Nanjundappa, who was a man of great vision and empathy.
