Delhi, Jan, 2016:
FIIT JEE is a relative performance based exam and requires students with high IQ and analytical ability with clear fundamentals and concepts to clear it successfully. It is a well known fact that a right and early start of specialized coaching goes a long way towards enabling success. Potential kids belonging to economically weaker background have always been deprived of the same and are at a massive disadvantage vis-à-vis students from better-off families, in pursuing their goals of getting a good rank in IIT.
FIITJEE’s Fortunate 40 removes this financial barrier by enabling such students to be at par with others in terms of a conducive ecosystem that helps these meritorious talents from economically deprived background to augment their knowledge to the next level to be able to enter IIT.
Fortunate 40 has enabled numerous economically underprivileged students realize their dream by awarding 100% scholarships and waivers on FIITJEE’s Integrated School /Classroom Programs, which carves them to face all sorts of competition at any level. With backing of an appropriate education platform, best-in-class faculty and regular collaboration with peer groups, these students are able to excel in their academic performance and behaviour. Right from taking care of their hostel and fee expenses, FIITJEE’s Fortunate-40 encourages student to focus only on their studies. This initiative is a boon for low-income parents who are incapable to pursue the goals of their bright and talented kids due to lack of funds.
FIITJEE, the country’s premier institute for IIT-JEE training, will conduct a nation-wide examination on February 7, 2016 to select underprivileged (whose total parental income is below Rs. 10,000/- per month) highly meritorious students who will be groomed and tutored for free by the FIITJEE for entrance to India’s most reputed engineering colleges.
The “FORTUNATE 40” examination will be held across designated test centres in India for all students studying in class VIII and X, who aspire to make it to IIT-JEE in the year 2020 & 2018 respectively, but do not have the financial resources to afford an effective coaching institution.
The selected underprivileged students, who show potential for doing well in the field, will be taken under the wing of FIITJEE, an organization which sends a large number of students to IITs and other prestigious engineering colleges of India every year.
While students from a cross - section of society aspire to make it to the IITs, it is not an easy exercise. Having the intellectual capability and potential is not enough as cracking JEE also requires a rigorous training and guidance. Students from economically less fortunate backgrounds often fail to avail the benefits of such coaching programmes.
Being a social responsibility-conscious organization and keeping in mind the aspirations of such students, FIITJEE, designed the FORTUNATE 40 in 2008. This program has been exclusively created to provide world-class training to serious students from financially weaker backgrounds and enthuse them to achieve their goal of success & top ranks in IIT-JEE and other competitive exams.
Fortunate-40 will select and financially support those capable students presently studying in class VIII (going to IX) & class X (going to XI) whose total parental income is below Rs.10, 000/- per month. FIITJEE will support these meritorious students in their preparation for achieving their dream goals by awarding 100% scholarships for FIITJEE programs & 100% waivers on hostel charges. The Fortunate 40 batch for each program, at each location, will have a maximum of 40 students only.
“FIITJEE has always taken this kind of social initiatives as a society-conscious organization to support the economically weaker students with scholarships and grants to excel in their performance in IIT-JEE and various other engineering entrance exams. This program will provide crucial inputs during their preparatory stage for IIT-JEE and they will address various important aspects related to Planning Study Schedules, Time Management Techniques, Answering Tactics and Revision Strategies to optimize their performance on the exam day" enumerates says Mr. R L Trikha, Director, FIITJEE.
