New Delhi, 14th February, 2016: DAV College Managing Committee under the esteemed guidance of President Shri. Punam Suri, in- association with Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha and Arya Pratinidhi Sabha, Haryana successfully organised NayiDisha- NayaSankalp, a vibrant event to celebrate Swami Dayanand Saraswati’s Birth Anniversary. The first of its kind mega event was held at one of the largest arenas in the country- Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi.
The event as graced by the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the honourable Chief Guest. The event also witnessedrevered presence of Shri. Acharya Dev Vrat, Governor of Himachal Pradesh- an eminent follower of Arya Samaj, along with participation from over 50,000 people including teachers, DAV alumni and people from the Arya Samaj world. The event marked a 'New Direction' and a 'New Promise' in the field of Education.It highlighted the crucial need to integrate spiritual education in today’s learning environs alongside underlined its role to efficiently cultivate man- making, character building, discipline, well- regarded values and ethics in human beings.
The event began with a soothing Bhajan and Yogasana by DAV college students. It also witnessed a soulful performance by Ms.Ananya Sritam Nanda, winner of Indian Idol Junior- 2015, Ms. Himani Kapoor and other DAV students. Later, Mr. Punam Suri, President DAV presented a shawl, a Coffee Table Book and a set of Veda’s to the Hon’ble PM. Mr. Suri also presented a shawl to the Governor of Himachal Pradesh. Post this, Prime Minister interacted with DAV officials and people from the Arya Samaj world.

Today, with around 800 campuses all over the country, over 20 lakh students, 60, 000 staff members and more than 40 lakh alumni, DAV has culminated into a massive educational movement since its inception 128 years ago.
