Chennai, Feb 5, 2016: Shrikrishna Madhusudhanan, Class V student in BVM Global @ Perungudi,  was declared recently the National Winner of the Google India Code to Learn Contest 2015. Shrikrishna, his parents, teachers and the school management are ecstatic with this stupendous achievement, which has inspired the boy to seek greater achievements in times to come.

The aim of Google’s Code to Learn contest is to “Building a stronger foundation for Computer Science in India”.

The Google India “Code to Learn Contest” is organized since 2014 for students of Classes 5 to 10 in which children from across the country participate and the school motivates the students to participate in this pan India hi-tech competition. Students submit a project which may be an application for a social cause, a game or an educational tool. The participants are expected to prepare the project on their own from its basic level including coding and writing the programmes.
The prestigious, All India level “Google India Code to Learn” contest was launched by former President of India Dr A P J Abdul Kalam with the hope to ignite the young minds for knowledge from an early age and cement India’s leadership in this domain and the contest has been adopted by the “Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan”, a flagship initiative under the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).

Mrs Shantini, mother of Shrikrishna Madhusudhanan, says : “The Robotics class conducted by BVM Global School helps students to link real world ideas with latest technologies and help students understand the programming concepts, to develop creative programs. The special training on “Scratch” programming has encouraged students to participate in the prestigious, All India level Google India's "Code to Learn" contest and made my son the winner of the contest in “Class 5 & 6” category for the year 2015. Thanks to Google India for the opportunity provided and thanks to our School for enabling us to be unique in the contest” concluded Mrs Shantini.

I am struck by how much India’s start up sector has grown over the past few years and also by the enthusiasm of its entrepreneurs.” Mr. Sundar Pichai , CEO Google Inc. had declared at an educational conference held at Delhi University in December, 2015.
