Fashion trends can sometimes be cyclical, returning to the nostalgia of past eras. The upcoming FW 2016-2017 season promises just that, with reminiscences of the 1960’s influence of hippy free love, the casual wear and disco days of the 70’s, and the resulting free-flowing boho chic style. There are (of course!) some surprises, with contemporary forays into the future through the use textures, the latest in textile technologies, and touches of nature-inspired surrealism. There is also a pinch of the naughty, with hints of Victorian burlesque peppered here and there. All in all, though, the overriding trend in all of these period-inspired flashbacks is definitive urban-bohemian elegance.
For PRECIOSA these international fashion trends have inspired a fresh new selection of exciting innovations. There are trendy new crystal coating and colours, jazzy new products, and a full gamut of product extensions that promise to enthral top crystal fashion designers. The new CREATE INSPIRATIONS for the 2016-2076 fall and winter seasons can be integrated into any style in completely different, unexpected yet amazingly uplifting ways.
First in line are two exciting new colors. There is the nature-inspired peaceful Khaki shade that is perfect for men’s or women’s fashion – from earthy boho designs to smart urban styles. Then we have the new melodious Light Topaz whose golden disco shimmer will make any product dance, whether it’s an accessory, an item of clothing, or a decorative item for the home or office. Capping off the new color offerings for the fall and winter season is the new Crystal Golden Honey coating for the VIVA 12® Chaton Rose and the premium MC Chaton MAXIMA.
PRECIOSA has also added a series of creative new product innovations that are sure to delight and inspire designers in many sectors, from fashion and jewellery to home and lifestyle décor. A fun and versatile product are the new and playful Crystal Threads. PRECIOSA Crystal Components are incorporated into black and white threads that could be used as fringes, in weaving, sewing, or as decorative accents any number of applications.
Next, the Czech crystal magnate has re-introduced the classic Cameo, both as a cabochon as well as in a setting format. Similarly, the ever lyrical MC Butterfly has a new set of wings – it now also comes in a setting. With both of these components PRECIOSA gives designers maximal flexibility on how to incorporate the stylish components. Also part of this season’s new introductions are the MC Pearshape – which has an exquisitely sparkling new faceted cut – and the popular Rondelles, this time with an extra large hole to widen its applicability to other fashion and decorative areas.
All in all, with both the new colors and crystal components PRECIOSA has provided designers with the tools to add elements of both smart urban edge and bohemian free flow – or both! – to their creations.
PRECIOSA has also, however, reacted to its customer’s desires by expanding some of its most sought after components. Covering all its customer bases, from home décor to wedding gowns, PRECIOSA extended the color ranges of five items: the MC Navette 301 2H and MC Pearshape 301 2H Sew-On Stones; the MC Square 132 and largest MC Square MAXIMA; and even the MC Rivoli MAXIMA – which is now available in twice the colors! And, the newest color addition (from last season’s innovations), Paparadscha, newly comes in the MC Bead Rondell: perfect for jewellery, fashion, accessories and so much more! Rounding out this season’s additions is the MC Square in Setting, which now comes in either a jewellery or sew-on version (with or without a bottom) in all five standard platings.
Any way you look at it, with so many new inspirational components for designers to create with, the FW 2016-2017 season promises to be full of brilliance and sparkle!
