British Airways’ 10 glorious years of flying to Bengaluru witnessed a grand celebration in the city on Friday, treating guests with the ‘best of British.’
The special evening witnessed a unique and exquisite fashion show featuring some of the most fashionable cabin crew uniforms that took to the skies since the 1940s to present. The show exhibited distinctive collection of uniforms created by British Airways’ in-house design teams in collaboration with distinguished fashion designers resonating with its brand value and cultural diversity, through every fashion era over the past 80 years. The show was presented and choreographed by Jim Davies of British Airways’ Heritage Centre.
From classic red-lined jacket and skirt, with optional flared trousers, brightly coloured ‘Aztec’ designed uniform to sarees replaced by kurta suit on Indian routes, British Airways’ fashion show exhibited on board flair, elegance, style and glamour like never before!
Speaking on this momentous occasion, Moran Birger, British Airways’ Regional Commercial Manager, South Asia, said, “We are proud of our heritage in India, British Airways’ second largest market outside the UK and after the US. On 30 October 2005, British Airways’ Boeing 777 took to the skies connecting London with Bengaluru with a five flights per week service. Today, after 10 years of flying to the city, the airline operates daily flights between London and Bengaluru, offering three class configuration namely, Club World (Business), World Traveller Plus (Premium Economy) and World Traveller (Economy) to its customers.
In early 2015, British Airways also started daily service from Bengaluru to London, seamlessly connecting to San Francisco with British Airways’ A380 service, the world’s largest commercial aircraft.
